Women move on. We have our limits.

Do men think women will always take them back?

A former lover once asked, “Is there anyone from your past you wish you could go back to? Maybe the timing was not right, or you were not ready?”

My simple response to him was “No.” We parted ways a few times and got back together. But when I was done, I lost interest in stoking an old flame. Despite multiple attempts, the door remained shut.

A friend was having issues in her marriage. Her husband thought that if they divorced and he made a mistake, he could come back after a year or two. And during their time apart…

Old friends unite

Friends come, and friends go. But true friends will always weave in and out of each other’s lives. That is the case with my friend, Leann. Although she lives 3,000 miles away in California, our paths will always intertwine.

During her recent visit, we decided to check out the hot, new restaurant, Bird&Wolf, located in North Andover, Massachusetts. I met Leann, her sister, Alison, and their kids at this gorgeous venue.

The restaurant is bright and spacious. Beautiful art is strategically placed on the walls, along with plants. Alison showed me the indoor gardens, home to strawberries and other edible…

Because sometimes you have to mix work and pleasure

Niagara Falls, Canada
Niagara Falls, Canada

Pre-COVID, I spent countless hours on the road driving to meet with clients. When I first started my role, I would make an adventure of my windshield time. At some point, the nights grew longer, and my fun time started to dwindle away.

My territories used to include New York, New Jersey, and New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont). A few years ago, one of my counterparts, Cheryl, and I had been doing joint presentations in our zones. One of our stints included training workshops in Scranton, Pennsylvania; Amherst, New York; and Syracuse, New York…

One-third of women have been followed, yet this is something society rarely talks about. It’s time to start that conversation, and keep it going.

Venice Beach, California

In my mid-twenties, I lived in Marina Del Rey, California. I often meandered off to Venice Beach for some fun in the sun. My soul danced to the beat of the waves crashing along the shore, and I always held my breath as the ocean swallowed the sun. The magnificent shades of pink, orange, and red were captivating, and people-watching was delightful. I never knew what craziness my eyes would witness. Sometimes my roommate would join me, while other days I beached it solo.

One bright, sunny afternoon, my roommate had to work. I wandered through Venice Beach’s canals to…

“It takes a lifetime for someone to discover Greece, but it only takes an instant to fall in love with her.” — Henry Miller

Before visiting Greece, the place I was born, I connected with my biological family, who I would be visiting. My sister, Dina, and her daughter, Joanna, asked me what I wanted to do during my visit. I told them my main focus was to spend time with family.

I had been to Greece before, and I have already seen all of the sites. If we had time, I would love to go to the beaches, the…

Lights and water

Dubai is a magical place dripping with wealth, beautiful beaches, and deserts. Elaine and I wanted to explore it all.

After an amazing dinner at Pierchic, we grabbed a cab and headed to the Dubai Fountain and Dubai Mall. We wanted to experience the delightful immersion of dancing water, lights, and music at night.

The Dubai Fountain performances are free, and the crowds are plentiful. The shows run every 30 minutes, with a flavor all their own. The shooting water was reminiscent of the Bellagio Fountain in Vegas, but with a unique flair.

Getting situated

Although we left the States on Sunday night, we did not arrive until Monday night. Tuesday was our first day to explore. We decided to check out one of Dubai’s beaches.

First up, a brisk walk to the bank to obtain AED. Then, a quick chat with the concierge to figure out how to navigate the city and fill in our gaps. We had researched a plethora of things to do in Dubai. Some inside the city and others on the outskirts. We needed to know what was doable.

Because at 13, I was molested on one.

Just another girl

Every female has some sort of similar story to tell. I am not unique in any way. Many women, young girls, and children have experienced things way worse than what I am about to share. We all have been exposed to something unpleasant and wrong. Unfortunately, no matter how sheltered life has been, there are always cracks for evil to seep in.

One sunny, carefree day, I headed into Boston with five friends. At 13, this was my first time…

Sometimes women subconsciously make themselves unattractive to protect themselves

I recently tuned into Framing Britney Spears. The documentary sucked me in. There was one particular detail that led my mind down a deep, dark hole.

I remember watching Britney’s rise to fame followed by her breakdown. When the once so innocent pop star shaved her head, everyone thought she was crazy. What demons possessed her to do such a thing? Society judged her, and not in a positive light. But how could we know what was going on inside of her? Just because she is famous does not mean we know her. And, yet, because her life was splattered…
